Xylocopa cubaecola Lucas, 1857

 

Synonyms: Xylocopa brasilianorum cubaecola

 

Xylocopa cubaecola is a carpenter bee endemic to Cuba and the Bahamas. On the photo below, it is shown pollinating Havana Clustervine (Jacquemontia havanensis). According to Krombein (1953) X. cubaecola is the only of this genus found in the Bimini Islands.
